Farmhouse at Descanso Gardens

La Cañada Flintridge, California

Tinker Glass is proud to be part of the new Farmhouse at Descanso Gardens — a stunning farm-to-table restaurant offering an elegant dining experience in the heart of one of Southern California’s most beautiful botanical gardens.

We provided the sleek glass storefront on two elevations and custom exterior bi-fold windows at the bar, designed to open up to the patio and connect diners with the fresh air and scenic surroundings. It’s a perfect blend of form, function, and natural beauty.

In keeping with the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability, the bar and table tops were crafted from giant oak trees that fell during a windstorm in early 2023 — turning loss into lasting beauty.

Next time you visit Descanso Gardens, treat yourself to a meal at the Farmhouse. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

Goodwin & Sons Market

Crestline, CAlifornia

Tinker Glass just completed the restoration of the Goodwin & Son’s Market in Crestline.  This market was crushed by snow weight in a heavy storm on March 1, 2023, requiring a complete rebuild. This is the only grocery store for this community and we are proud to be part of the team that put the pedal to the metal to get it rebuilt and open in just 14 months, 6 days.

The new store features a beautiful twenty-seven-foot-tall storefront feature which provides a beautiful view of Lake Gregory while enjoying a meal in the dining area at the front of the store.

The new design also incorporated some upscale interior elements.  We provided decorative clerestory windows made of textured glass for the gift shop and deli counter and tubular aluminum storefront framing fabricated to match signage for the new soda fountain.

Youth Orchestra Los Angeles

Inglewood California

Tinker Glass recently completed the new Youth Orchestra Los Angeles concert hall in Inglewood. This project consisted of converting a former bank building into a concert hall with skylights for natural daytime lighting and a curtainwall system equipped with insulated bullet resistant glass for both security and thermal performance.

YOLA is an initiative of the Los Angeles Philharmonic to provide youth orchestra programs in underprivileged communities and is led by LA Philharmonic Music and Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel. The architect is Frank Gehry who designed the Walt Disney Concert Hall. This venue will be a blessing for many young musicians, and we are grateful to be part of making it a reality.
